Cheers! Mikel Arteta signs new three year deal
Good news! Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta puts pen to paper on new deal to 2027
Hello!
Happy Thursday!
It certainly is, as the news filters through that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has put pen to paper on a new three year deal that will take him through until 2027 at the Emirates.
Wonderful news all round.
After having attended Arteta’s transfer deadline day press conference at London Colney, where he pointedly hinted that there would be news after the international break, I had been hoping there would be a positive announcement before the North London derby - and so it proved.
Speaking to Arsenal.com Arteta said: “I feel extremely proud, very excited and am looking forward to what is coming next. I’m proud to be where I am and have the relationships that I have with everyone at the club.
“I feel extremely lucky to work every single day with good people and the ambition we have here. I feel very inspired, I feel challenged, I feel supported and I want to do much more than what we’ve already done together.
“Together with the players and everyone at the club, we are looking forward to the coming years, with our supporters, who have emotionally transformed the club and the team. Our supporters have transformed individuals and we are different now.
“You can tell that we are different and for me, that is down to them. We look forward to continuing the journey together.”
Cheers!
I must say, ahead of covering Sunday’s North London Derby I am really looking forward to attending Arteta’s press conference at Colney tomorrow lunchtime.

In the meantime, Edu, who has worked with Arteta since the Gunners boss joined as boss back in December 2019, added: “We are really happy that Mikel has signed a new long-term contract.
“It’s a very positive and proud moment for everyone at the club and an important part of what we’re all working towards.
“Mikel has shown his qualities since the very first day he joined us, not only as a football manager, but as a person with wonderful values.
“We have a strong belief in what we are doing and what we want to achieve together. Mikel’s new contract gives us stability and clear direction as we aim for new heights.”

DAILY LIST:
I - A busy day pulling together the new Arsenal Women’s Digital Issue - publication date to be announced as I’ll be in Italy next week, while Freddie will be in Sweden covering Arsenal Women’s game in Gothenburg for the Gooner Fanzine, while Serge will be busy being a production genius - so we’ll confirm the exact date it will be released in due course.
Suffice to say I’m so excited about about the quality line-up we’ll once again have, not to mention the brilliant creatives we' have on board.
See you for Arteta’s pre NLD presser at a London Colney on Friday lunchtime.
